Working Group Biostatistics
Our group is interested in the development of biostatistical methods and their application to health research data. We conduct methodological research that is motivated by scientific questions arising from our study projects at the University Hospital Bonn. Our main areas of research include regression modeling, time-to-event analysis, and statistical learning.
Furthermore, we are involved in various clinical and epidemiological research collaborations, providing statistical support for projects in the neurosciences, ophthalmology, pharmacoepidemiology, nutritional epidemiology, intensive care, and others. Current projects include:
- the MACUSTAR study on intermediate age-related macular degeneration,
- the DESCARTES network on the diagnosis and prediction of Alzheimer’s disease,
- the TOFU registry of patients with non-infectious uveitis, and
- the ANKA project on the analysis of adverse drug reactions in electronic health records and spontaneous reports.
